Il pidgin è una lingua. E' l'inglese parlato dalle popolazioni colonizzate dagli inglesi. Una lingua meticcia, che installa la propria indipendenza anche dentro la lingua dominante. Abbiamo scelto questo nome perché ci sentiamo rappresentati dall'idea di una lingua viva e nuova, che si diffonderà a rizoma per una comunicazione trasversale tra periferie ed impero. La lingua franca del mondo della comunicazione. Un mondo in cui periferie ed imperi, che spesso si fanno la guerra, devono comunque trovare linguaggi comuni, per meglio combattersi e meglio integrarsi. E' il paradigma della comunicazione: lo scambio tra integrazioni e conflitti, le posizioni conquistate, e i presìdi abbandonati. E in questo mondo vive Pidgin: una produzione indipendente nella rete degli indipendenti d'Europa. La nostra forza sta nella grande capacità di relazioni che possiamo dispiegare su ogni singolo progetto. Lavoriamo sui linguaggi, tenendo sempre in mente la convergenza. Fissiamo momenti che riteniamo importanti, stando attenti ai movimenti di cui spesso siamo parte, a modo nostro, girando dei film. In poche parole siamo Pidgin, produzioni meticcie dal mondo occidentale. |

Scratching Pidgin
Pidgin, as most readers will recognize, is the English spoken by the populations the British once colonized. It's a mongrel language that establishes its own independence even within the dominant dialect. We've chosen this name because we identify with the idea of a new living language, one that like a rootstalk will spread out and spawn a communication capable of cutting across borders and empires: to become the lingua franca in the world of communication. The empires in this border-marked world have to find common languages even as they cross swords: such language is their weapon and their means of integration, too. This is the very situation that frames the paradigm of communication, which consists in the exchange between integration and conflict, positions conquered and military posts abandoned. And this is how Pidgin lives: an independent production house in the network of European independents. Out strong suit lies in our manifold ability to unpack relationships for every project we undertake. We work on languages, with convergence always uppermost in mind. We fix what we feel are important moments, even as we keep an eye focused on the movements we become participants to, in our own way, when we film. In short, we are Pidgin, mongrel productions from the Western world. |

Pidgin fa ricerca sui nuovi linguaggi del cinema della televisione e del web e lavora nella prospettiva della convergenza insieme alle altre 12 imprese del consorzio Digicittà . Per ciò che riguarda le risorse creative diffuse, intendiamo essere un punto di riferimento per chi fa ricerca attraverso la scrittura, sia in letteratura sia in ambito cinematografico e multimediale. Pidgin scopes out new the languages gaining currency in cinema, television, and the Web and works with the outlook of convergence; this work is done jointly with the other twelve companies making up the Digicittà consortium. As concerns the pooling of creative resources, we intend to be a reference point for those who research through writing, understood to comprise both literature and the realm of cinema and multimedia productions. Pidgin Productions and Service: Pidgin is writing for content providers, documentaries, fiction,
commercials, backstage productions, videos, format TV, TV programs,
and stream video and is doing casting, audio and video post-production,
filming productions, broadcasting, and prosumer. |
